Praiseworthy

There is nothing like making a big positive change to boost one's self esteem.

Really, nothing like it.

Everyone is always full of compliments about things that are different.

Ex: If the dishes are never done, when someone does them it is amazing and everyone talks about it. If they are always done, no one says anything about it.

I suppose we should just live our lives so that we always are getting compliments and praise. Ergo, no more cleaning until it is ridiculously disgusting. The world would be a happier place...unless your killed first because you don't really contribute. But, that could also make the world a happier place as well, all depending on your perspective.

Well, I suppose no one really wants to be murdered. I guess we will just have to live in a relatively clean and praise-less world, and all this for the sake of our mortality...erm...health.

Chemicals

What drives a woman's brain?

Simple- chemicals.

I am not talking about how everything is just a chemical reaction and everything is made up of chemicals. No, I am talking about excess chemicals, there for no real reason besides looking good...or feeling good.

What do women put on their faces? Chemicals.

In their hair? Chemicals.

Everywhere possible? Chemicals.

How do we function with all of the non-oxygen floating around in our heads?

The better question is: how do we function without it?

And the answer- we don't.

So, now we know: women need extra chemicals.

If you are smart, you will take this into account when dealing with them. Support women in their efforts to attain those extra chemicals. Also, appreciate when they do partake in the chemicals- there is no way of getting away, and life is easier when chemically balanced women are around.

Need and Want

Am I getting what I need?

Although, knowing what I need would help me figure out whether I am getting it or not.

If I am questioning it, then does that mean that I am not getting it? Or is that just a natural human condition-to question everything?

Do humans really ever "need" anything? Or do we just "want" everything.

And if we are really just wanting everything, then is it really only wanting? Constant want comes from a constant lack. And if we are constantly lacking something, then doesn't that mean that we need it?

Really funny guys. You are quite the jokers.

Creativity comes from the soul of a person. Even something that is not considered by some to be very creative is still conceived in the same place. Which is why so many people are slow to show their creative sides and are very sensitive when they do. Even goofing off by using a creative ability is difficult.

I have no idea how long it took me to start singing in front of people. My best friend had a group of other friends and they were all basically music geeks. For example, by the concession stand in a movie theater, there was a spot that had really good acoustics. They all decided that they would harmonize...right there...in front of a hundred people. They all looked at me expectantly. I refused. They all knew what they were doing, and I wasn't qualified. Besides, they would only make fun of me if I did.

Even though I have gotten a little over my fear of making a fool of myself (singing whenever, wherever, and however if feel), when people say negative things, especially by way of a joke, it still hurts. I understand that they are "joking," but every joke has an element of truth. If a person cries out, "OW! My ears are in pain!" I know that they mean it to be funny (harr harr, I am really laughing), but I also know it to mean, "I don't like your voice, it is ugly, so please stop singing because you are embarrassing and awful."

Realizing this, I have made it a point to try not to make any jokingly negative comments about anything that is in any way, shape, or form creative. Be it playing an instrument, singing, drawing, sculpting, writing, or even cooking. If I don't like it, I tell them (in a tactful way, but still straight forward). It is much easier to parry a blow that is coming from the front than one that is coming from a "funny" angle. I prefer others to do that to me as well. Tell me once that you hate it and leave it at that. Chances are, I still like it, and bashing is not going to get your point across any better. If you are constantly making jokes about its awfulness, I don't know how to react, so I shut down. No more creativity, and no more closeness. My trust is broken, and you are no longer worthy of seeing my true self. The same probably goes for countless others.

So, just be careful what you say around and about people. Be courteous, and don't try to be witty because, really, you can't pull it off all that well.

It happened...again

Timing is very interesting.

"It doesn't rain, it pours" is probably one of my favorite sayings. There is no such thing as a little sprinkle. But that is probably because it is too small to notice...or I just refuse to.

Maybe, because a single event is isolated, it does not stand out.

Take for instance, falling up stairs. I do it quite frequently (it being easier than falling down stairs), but I only really notice that it happens when it occurs more than once in a short amount of time. There are many times, I am sure, that I have fallen up the stairs going to class, only I don't remember because I did not trip again soon after.

Or, getting bruises. I don't know how many times I have forgotten where a random bruise has come from. But on a clumsy day, I remember each and every incident that resulted in slight internal bleeding.

The isolation theory might explain a lot, but I am not sure what. It might be one of those ideas that needs to fester for a while (that imagery was a little disconcerting...how about, has to be mulled over a little or simmer a bit).

Anyway.

All I know is that the explanations will come to full fruition. As it so happens, that fruition will probably come into being only when the other ideas that have needed to ripen do.

Timing isn't just interesting, it's everything.

Hmmmm....

I went to bed at 6:30 AM this morning. Yeah...I know...it's crazy, but I am ok with that. I enjoyed staying up that late because I was watching the best Anime ever "Bubblegum Crisis." The truth is out, Judes loves anime. But guess what, I always have, and probably always will...as long as I can find clean ones.

Then at 8:30 AM I was called in to use my amazing making-cakes-out-of-a-box skill. From then until about 11:30, I was making cakes. (Enrichment is not my friend right now...and hasn't been for a while...and probably won't be any time soon.)

After the cakes were done, I got ready for the day. I called into work because I was not feeling well, but I get to make up my hours tomorrow.

I read my book for a little bit (not so sure if I like this one: Treason by Orson Scott Card. It is really iffy, even for him).

I then get a call asking me if I will make the icing for the a fore stated cakes. I said yes. I was in a much better mood than at 9 AM this morning, so it was pretty fun.

Now I am off to Enrichment, where I have half of the lesson to give.

I am not sure whether or not I am going to stay the whole time. I have something that I do every Wednesday, and it is rather important for my mental health...which Enrichment doesn't help in keeping stable.

Musings

I need a muse.

How do I go about obtaining one though?

Maybe, if I poured some creative juices on a trap that would then spring when the muse came to cultivate it I would be able to...no, a captive muse would never help me in my endeavors.

I could make a bargain with it: I give it something for its guidance and inspiration. But, what would a muse want that I could offer...I'm NOT gonna sell my SOULl!

First-born children are supposedly a hot commodity. But is it really fair to bargain someone's existence without their previous permission? Besides, what I love my first-born? What?! It could happen!

I suppose I could borrow one (muse, not first-born). Unfortunately, I think muse's are tailor-made for their specific inspiree.

Man, I'm in a pickle. I need a muse, but apparently, I need one to be able to figure out a way to get one. PARADOXES! YOU'RE KILLING ME!

(Stops, eyes widen with a frightening new understanding, and then blinks) Oh goodness...if you're telling me that one of my muses' is Paradox, I'm gonna to go insane...but then again, Insanity is said to be a pretty good muse.

9 Things About Me

I always get the last word...it's a pride issue.

No one ever really understands what I am really saying because I don't either.

I would rather take the easy way out because it requires less effort, even though it usually ends up being more difficult. Level of difficulty and level of effort do not always correlate positively.

I love solving mysteries, not having them.

De-tangling necklaces or strings is one of my favorite pass times.

Imaginary friends were too impractical, try as I might to have one.

My best efforts in imaginary friends were always animals because they made a little more sense than imaginary humans.

Pretending to be a super hero did not make it anymore real so I never deluded myself into believing I was one.

Santa and the Tooth Fairy were never able to make me believe in them, try as they might.

Missing Spoon Foundation: Help Us Return Every Missing Spoon

Our apartment started out with a decent amount of spoons. Enough, anyway, so I wouldn't have to wash a spoon every time I wanted one. Recently though, there has been a rise on spoon disappearances.

I have a theory as to why this is happening...and it is a good one.

Our refrigerator is a portal to another dimension. (This explains the weird noises and the random gross looking food in the back) This fridge is new; we just got it because our other one died on us. At about the time of the new fridge, our spoons started becoming scarcer.

Every night, when everyone is gone to bed, the portal opens letting in a host of creatures. These creatures scour the kitchen (I wish they were cleaning, but no, this is the searching version of the word). Nothing catches their fancy...that is, nothing except their reflections in the spoons. Once one catches the view of its hideous face it cannot look away. It is afraid that if it looks away first, the thing looking back at it will attack. The creature is caught in an impossible snare, it lives the rest of its life staring at its reflection.

When it is time for the tenants of the apartment to wake-up, the portal starts to close and all the creatures return to their dimension. Everything is back to the way it was... minus a spoon or two.

This theory is the best I have. Nothing else seems to make sense. Spoons don't just disappear unless some creature from another dimension takes them. What else can explain this phenomenon?

The Adventures of Nameless (and her unfortunate apprentice)

The scene: Our heroin, "Nameless" (the Living Paradox; the Queen of the Conundrum; the Enigmatic Evil-bane...for modesty's sake, we will stop it at that, but there are many more) has a secret tool that allows her to hone in her natural ability to control people.

The tool is to be used only by those who understand its purpose and ability. It is very dangerous to the novice and the unwary.

One day, Nameless decided that maybe it was time to train an under-fighter (you never know when crime is going to happen, and what if The Living Paradox is sick or unavailable?). A promising young crime-fighter named Bear appeared to be the best candidate.

Nameless took Bear back to her "Location of Mystery" (no one even knows what it is: a den, a cave, a watch tower, a broom closet?) and began training the Heroin-to-be.

The trainee learned quickly and grew immensely in her skills and abilities.

The Queen of the Conundrum was pleased and thought often of the good fortune bestowed upon her. "Ah! Finally, someone to pass along the perplexing ways of my life. An heiress to my magnificent power has arrived. Bear is my hope and my future."

We are not sure why Nameless thinks this. She is young...younger even than Bear, and that by a few years. But, like her sub-titles state, she is a mystery never to be solved.

One fateful day, The Mysterious Maiden (I told you there was more) decided that her young Padewan was ready to learn the secrets of the secret tool.

The tool was brought forth. The tool was unveiled. The tool made Bear cry.

Nameless never again tried to instruct another in the ways of the tool, and to this day, she is still the only being who understands it.

When ever Bear overheard someone whisper about the secret tool, the one only the Inexplicable Avenger can understand and use, she tells her tale of woe.

Now Nameless and the tool are viewed as evil, and it is all thanks to Bear. Bear: the wannabe heroin who did not know when enough was enough.

The Enigmatic Evil-bane, to this day, cannot solve one mystery- Why would Bear want people to know an embarrassing story like that.

But, Nameless has come to the understanding that life is full of mysteries...herself being a significant one.
