Trials

It doesn't rain, it pours. But, that is ok, we need the rain...errr, the pouring.

This goes both ways. Blessings pour out on us as well as the trials. Oh wait! They both can be considered blessings. Trials are blessings, but in a horrid, terrible, disgusting Halloween costume. Take off the outer layer and you have growth and strength waiting for you.

My life for the past few weeks has been a lot of trials, one right after the other. Not really though, they tend to just build on each other and not go away. Let me rephrase- my life for the past few weeks has been one huge trial that has been growing exponentially (as in- 2 to the 2nd power is 4, and 4 to the 2nd power is 16, etc.).

The only thing that is getting me through this is the hope for a brighter tomorrow and the love I know my Savior and my Heavenly Father have for me. Sometimes I forget how much I am loved, and then I receive a much needed blessing of comfort from my home teachers, and I remember and feel it again.

The Atonement is amazing. How can I even explain how it has helped in my life? Every time I try to explain it, I become tongue-tied. Uh, it is frustrating not being able to put into words what I feel and know. I just have to rely on the Spirit to get the message of love and understanding across. How pure and true the love of our Savior and our God is. How we are each valued so highly, each so precious in Their eyes. They ache for us more than we can ever ache for anything. It is so infinite. Jesus Christ took our sins upon Himself. He knows perfectly everything that we go through. Feels every pain and every joy we experience. He knows us better than we know ourselves. He is the only way for us to return to our Father. The Father let Him suffer for our sake. He let Christ, His most beloved, come down and die for us.

How can we repay Him? We can't, but we can use the Atonement. By using it and returning to out Heavenly Father, we fulfill our end. Our agency, the only thing we can call our own, is the only thing that we can give back to our Heavenly Father. We make His will ours, and nothing can stop us. Trials become a stepping stone for our eternal progression and we conquer all, but only if we trust in the Lord completely.
