Sleepy Time

I no longer go to bed at a decent hour. I believe my body is taking full advantage of my not having to wake up at 3:30 AM anymore. I go to bed at a ridiculous hour at night (more correctly, in the morning), and wake up at 11 AM the next day, or rather at 11 AM later that day. Half of my day is wasted in sleep, and the other half is wasted because I cannot do anything or go anywhere because of curfew.

It doesn't help that all of my roommates have a half-sane schedule. They wake up, go to class, do homework, maybe socialize, and go to sleep. I wake up, eat breakfast, take a shower, and wait like a little puppy by the door for some other being to come around and play with me.

Of course, come Monday, I will have a real schedule. I will have officially started work by then. Yay! Now I have something to do from 3-7 PM on weekdays, and 6-10 PM on Fridays.

I rather miss waking up at a decent hour, but what would motivate me to do that? Exercising? Oh yeah, I am really going to roll out of bed just so I can trudge through the cold and be self-conscious in a gym. I did it for a while because my friend needed a buddy. But then she quit calling, so I sleep in.

By the time I eat breakfast, most people have eaten lunch (11 AM is most definitely breakfast, because around 1 PM I have my lunch), and I feel like I haven't done anything. Which I haven't, but knowing that doesn't help alleviate the guilt. I try to be better (wake up at decent hour, do something productive, socialize) but, as Yoda said, "There is no try, only do and do not." Ergo, I do not.

Not being able to fall asleep when I am tired does not help anything either. That problem would be solved by my actually doing something active during the day. Summer is so much easier. I swore to myself that I would never say this, but technically, I am writing, "I hate winter!" OK, I don't hate it, but it is definitely a challenge. I miss the Southeast...mostly the sun.

Ha Ha! I figured out my problem, I do not have a regular sleeping pattern because I have no Sun. Ah, I feel better already. It is nice when you can find something to blame your incompetence on.

Time

Time...no one can really explain what it is. Not even the physicists ( believe me I'm an expert, I took a physics class.). That is not to say the physicists are not very smart people, on the contrary. It is to say not even our brightest minds know what the heck "time" is. Oh, we all have an intuitive feel for it, but no real clue as to what that feeling means.

The point I am making: how can we waste something that is not really understood to begin with? Is it really waste, when in fact, we are just trying to figure this thing out?

Is it a waste of time to see how long one is able to watch TV before one becomes antisocial? That is a very good thing to find out. Believe me, if I knew, I would never even get near to the antisocial stage. But sometimes, I just don't know, and it worries me. Tests should be done to find this kind of thing out. If I have to be the one performing this test, so be it. I will take one for the team. The betterment of society is far more important than my personal comfort.

If anything is considered a "time waster," it is most definitely hygiene. What does having "good" hygiene do? Oh, it makes things "seem" a little more pleasant, but in truth it does nothing. It is a wasted cycle.

Every morning, I wake up, brush my teeth, style my hair, and put on make-up. Every evening, I brush my teeth again (useless action because teeth get dirty without me even trying), mess my style by brushing my hair, and then wash my face (removing the makeup that took me 5 min to put on in 1 min).

Don't even start me on showers. Too late! For a girl, 10 min is a really quick shower. Add in the 2 min to towel off (if they are the kind that does not just let it evaporate) and the 10 min to dry the hair (that is with a hair dryer as well, go without it, and it is up to 1 hour), and she is taking 22 min out of her "time" to have "good hygiene." I could have watched a whole TV show in those 22 min (minus commercials). The World could have been 22 min closer to knowing the amount of time it takes watching TV to become antisocial. Wasted. 22 min wasted. For what? Hygiene. Take away the misconception of what "good" hygiene is, and all the Worlds problems would be solved.

Time, not really being wasted because it is not really there, alludes us all. Maybe the time you took reading this blog is exactly the amount of time it would have taken you to save the World. Alas, it is too late to take that "wasted" time back. I guess the World may never know...about time.

Work

I am now employed by the happiest place on the planet. No, dear children, not Disney World. No no, it is much better than that. My employment puts that droll establishment to shame. I am now an employee of the wonderful, much acclaimed, call center. Yes. That's right. Western Watts.

Oh, people call it "the devil" or "the most evil place known to man" maybe even "the wasteland." Ok, the last one maybe not. The point is, don't listen to those "Nay-Sayers." DO YOU HEAR ME NEGATIVE NELLY'S AND NELSON'S! I am going to call people and be the best surveyor anyone's ever seen...heard. People will be waiting by their phones in eager anticipation for my paid inquisitiveness. Oh ho, yeah.
